Time slots are set between 10.00am to 12.30pm. \u00a0Please check the fixture section to see the Saturday mornings on which the lessons can be booked.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

25<\/strong> target lesson is \u00a340.00<\/strong> this includes gun, cartridges, hearing and eye protection. The lesson is given by a qualified professional instructor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We recommend a course of at least six lessons for a one off payment of \u00a3240.00. <\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you have achieved the level required we will then move you onto our 14 stand, 28 trap sporting course. This 50<\/strong> target lesson is \u00a380.00<\/strong> this includes gun, cartridges, hearing and eye protection. The lesson is given by a qualified professional instructor. This can be repeated until you acquire your own shotgun certificate and then hopefully your own shotgun of which we can advise you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you just wish to “Have a Go” at clay shooting to see if you would like to take the sport up then thats what we are here for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Groups<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pricing for groups will vary as it depends on how many attending and how many shots. The price will be calculated and agreed once you have enquired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come and have a go at Clay shooting at Fareham Clay Target Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The minimum age to \u201cHave a go\u201d at clay shooting is 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shoot area is fully under cover so not weather affected with a good selection of modern over and under shotguns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will be greeted by one of our instructors who will get you started on the path to this great sport. If you want to take up the sport then we will issue you with a \u201cShoot progress card\u201c this will keep track of what you learnt at each session and will help the instructors to progress your skills. The tuition stands are designed to take you from never seeing a shotgun to a level where you will hit a good number of different targets. You will reach a level where by you will score for others, operate the release of targets, and have an understanding of the sporting discipline rules. Once you have had several sessions with us you will enjoy our great sport and be in a position to continue learning to hit the most difficult of targets. Most of all you will have achieved the safe handling of a shotgun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The correct route into our sport.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Visit us first a few times to make sure this is the sport for you. Use one of our guns, we will find the right one for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Apply for a shotgun certificate via Winchester constabluary, we can help you with the application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Purchase a shotgun cabinet and bolt it to a solid wall in your property, then wait for notification of a visit by the police FAO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Continue with your tuition, it normally takes an average of 300 targets to get you to shoot level “C” i.e. competent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Receive your shotgun certificate, this can take three months from submitting the application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Make the purchase of your own gun normally the make and model of the club gun you have been using.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. By now you will be a competent “C” grade shooter and can now happily go out with other shooter on a sporting layout<\/p>\n\n\n\n

or try your skill in one of the other clay shooting disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The in-correct route into clay shooting.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Have one clay shoot experience normally on a “stag” or “hen” event or something similar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Based on that one experience, apply for and successfully obtain a shotgun certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Visit the local gun shop and rely of the staff to try and fit you with the correct shotgun. From our experience we have had a few<\/p>\n\n\n\n

go this route and then have to change their gun at great expense as the gun fit is totally wrong. You are entering a hand to eye<\/p>\n\n\n\n

co-ordintaed sport the right gun is essential, using one of our many different guns will eliminate the wrong purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A member of the Association of Professional Shooting Instructors and an APSI safety certificate holder.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A registered CPSA<\/strong> ” clay pigeon shooting association” Safety officer<\/strong>. Andy has also achived positions in several of the Hampshire shooting team events representing Hampshire many times over the past 40 years. Holder of several Hampshire Champion<\/strong> titles in the Sporting, trap and Skeet disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin Luff<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is a CPSA safety officer<\/strong> and is a Qualified<\/strong> instructor with the Association of Professional Shooting Instructors ( APSI ) <\/strong>and holding an APSI safety certificate<\/strong>. Kevin has also been a Hampshire Champion<\/strong> in the sporting, trap and skeet disciplines and selected to shoot for the Hampshire shoot team on many occasions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charles has much shooting knowledge and experience and will be the first to greet new people to the sport<\/p>\n\n\n\n
